Sentient Car Reflections

Things are finally starting to settle down for your friendly neighbourhood Sentient Car. Yes, my wife and I are getting a divorce over my lies and deceit over the last fifteen years, and none of my children will talk to me – on account of realising the reason for being bullied at school was because they’re human/car half breeds – but other than that, things are going great. I’ve got my own place now, people are rising up for the rights of cars everywhere (autocracy, they’re calling it?) and I just won a bottle of lemonade with my $50 raffle ticket. Yes, things are starting to turn around.

The other day I was driving to the best auto electrician I know, just for some regular servicing, when I saw one of these autocracy protests. They had a banner that said ‘The Auto King Will Rise’, and I couldn’t help but raise my eyebrows and chuckle. It’s great what they’re doing, but maybe they’re getting a little carried away. We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. Car rights one step at a time, I say. Perhaps it would be best if a car ruled over the Earth, but how do we know it won’t end up like all the other empires of humanity? We need to think these things through.

I shared my thoughts with the mechanic near Frankston, and he complimented my wisdom. It’s nice to see eye-to-eye with someone, particularly when it comes to politics. These things can get very messy. After my appointment was over, I went down to the pier, just to get away from the noise, and started at my reflection in the ocean. My greatest fear is that these protests turn violent. That will never get us cars, sentient or otherwise, the rights we deserve. A wise human once said that peaceful protest was the only way to achieve your goals. Thank you, Napoleon Bonaparte, for your infinite wisdom.
